The main purpose of waste denmark is to safeguard member interests towards national and international authorities. This work is done through analyses of future needs of the members and by following the actions taken by authorities and other stakeholders.

waste denmark coordinates common positions in order to promote these positions to relevant stakeholders. This work is often done in co-operation with other associations such as Local Government Denmark (KL), The Confederation of Danish Industries (DI), The Association of Danish Energy Companies (Dansk Energi), Reno-Sam, Danish District Heating Association (Dansk Fjernvarme) and others. In Brussels we co-operate with various organizations representing authorities, industry and NGOs.

waste denmark is invited by authorities to participate in hearings regarding environment and energy issues and waste denmark participates in a number of forums and groups chaired by the Ministries.
