AffaldVarme Århus (Århus, Jutland)
AffaldVarme (Waste and District Heating) Århus is in charge of the waste management as waste planning, collection, sorting, recycling and treatment of all kinds of waste in the municipality of Århus,the second largest city in Denmark. The incineration plant of the municipality is located at Lisbjerg just north of Århus. The plant opened a new incineration line in 2005, which has an annual capacity of app. 234.000 tons waste producing electricity and district heating. Read more at www.affaldvarme.dk
Amagerforbrændning (Copenhagen)
I/S Amagerforbrænding is located on Amager in Copenhagen. The company is owned by the municipalities Dragør, Frederiksberg, Hvidovre, Copenhagen and Tårnby. The plant can incinerate approx. 425.000 tons waste from households and businesses annually producing electricity and district heating. Next to the incineration plant the company owns and operates civic amending sites for the municipalities.

DSV Miljø A/S is a leading Nordic supplier of soil clean-up, recycling and raw materials – including associated haulage services and supplier of total solutions. More than 2 million tonnes of waste and contaminated soil is managed annually at the reception and treatment plants of the Group all over Scandinavia. Marius Pedersen A/S (Denmark)
Marius Pedersen A/S collects, sorts and sells building and construction waste, electronic waste, paper, plastic, tyres and waste wood. Furthermore Marius Pedersen A/S collects municipal solid waste and carries out mud pumping tasks. The company has app. 1.000 employees in Denmark. The headquarter is situated in Ferritslev in Funen. At different places in Denmark Marius Pedersen A/S has in total 11 waste sorting plants.

Reno-Nord (Aalborg, North Jutland)
Reno-Nord is placed in Aalborg. The company is owned by the municipalities of Brønderslev, Jammerbugt, Mariagerfjord, Rebild and Aalborg. Reno-Nord opened a new incineration line in 2005, which has an annual capacity of app. 160.000 tonnes waste producing electricity and district heating. STENA Metall A/S is part of the family-owned Swedish STENA Metall group, a leading enterprise within recycling and environmental technology. In Denmark, Stena Metall comprises five companies and a number of subsidiaries: STENA Jern og Metal A/S, STENA Averhoff + Co, STENA Miljø A/S, STENA Technoworld A/S and STENA Aluminium A/S. The companies are found at 25 different locations throughout Denmark; its headquarters being in Brøndby. The picture features the Stena facility in the city of Roskilde.

Vattenfall (Funen)
Vattenfall owns and operates Odense Kraftvarmeværk (ODV). The plant has three incineration lines with a capacity of 2×8 tons of waste per hour and 16 tons of waste per hour. The majority of Funen and parts of West Zealand deliver waste to the plant. The heat is delivered to Odense Municipal District Heating.

Vestforbrænding (Sealand)
Vestforbrænding is Denmark’s largest public owned waste management company and is situated in Glostrup, west of Copenhagen. It is owned by 20 municipalities around Copenhagen and operates in all kinds of waste treatment: recycling, incineration, depositing as well as the sorting and handling of hazardous waste. Vestforbrænding has the largest single incineration plant in Denmark and incinerates 500.000 tonnes of waste each year producing electricity and district heating.
